Carbon 14 New Eco-Friendly Outdoor Watch Brand

Carbon-14-Watch

Launched in Central Park yesterday, new outdoor company Carbon 14 aims to develop a new, sporty and distinctive outdoor brand with an eco-friendly consciousness. The company was founded by entrepreneur Robert Hollander, former VP of Sales and Marketing for the 1996 Olympic Games and co-founder of Brand Sense Partners. He has a passion for the environment and experience in the watch and outdoor industry so decided to bring them all together in developing the Carbon 14 watch line.

The rugged, durable and sporty watches center around three themes: Earth, Air and Water, reflecting the environmental concerns of the company. All watches are chronographs and water resistant up to at least 50 meters. They range in price from $250-$500 and use automatic, quartz and digital movements. The first ambassador for the brand is Korath Wright, World-Class snowboarder and the first Bahamian athlete to compete in the Winter Olympic Games for his country.

"We wanted to create a brand that symbolizes active environmentalism and outdoor recreation, yet is more accessible to everyone. Our watches are stunningly designed to look and feel much more expensive, are sports and outdoor inspired, and are still strongly elegant enough to wear anytime, anywhere," says Hollander.

Carbon 14 is taking its environmentalism as far as sponsoring a $50,000 award to the person with the best action, cause or program to make the world a better place. Submissions for the Environmental Grant Award are being taken now at the Carbon 14 website.
