UK company Finisterre (of the famous surfing sheep fame) is the first in the world to make a waterproof jacket that is 100% recyclable. Called the Anabactic MK II, this lightweight waterproof shell is a versatile jacket that can be used during every season.
The Anabactic MK II shell uses Finisterre's exclusive waterproof, breathable C-Shell fabric. The 2.5 layer, waterproof C-Shell fabric is made from part recycled material and is 100% recyclable, an industry first.
A super hydrophilic membrane effectively moves moisture away from your body, while still remaining both waterproof and windproof. The fabric is also easily broken down and re-used to exactly the same quality via Teijin's closed loop Eco-Circle recycling scheme.
The resulting lightweight, waterproof shell is the perfect pack light at just 360 grams. Features include a wired and stiffened peak, helmet compatible hood, volume adjustment and an ergonomic cut for maximum range of movement. Two waterproof chest pockets, waterproof Riri Aquazips, velcro cuffs and a cinch waist hem will ensure you stay dry.
The Anabactic MK II comes in both men's and women's versions and in four different colors. The 100% recyclable lightweight waterproof shell retails for £180 and can be bought from the company website.
