Rapha is moving further into Outlier’s realm of classic, fashionable bike commuting wear with the release of the softshell urban cycling pants, or trousers as they are called in the UK. Rapha wanted to produce a pair of pants that were stylish and comfortable enough to wear in the office all day but durable enough to handle any weather on your bike commute home.
Similar to Rapha’s Classic Softshell cycling jacket, the new softshell pants are made from a polyester and spandex material that is treated with a water-resistant coating. The Hytrel membrane gives you insulation while still allowing for breathability. A soft brushed tricot lining adds even extra warmth and comfort.
An abrasion-resistant cordura/nylon seat panel will make sure you get plenty of mileage out of the softshell pants while a neoprene rear panel will protect you from road spray and keep your backside warm. All waterproof zippers add even more weather protection.
Deep front pockets and a rear waterproof lined zip-pocket provide plenty of secure storage for all your personal belongings. Another small zipped pocket above the front right pocket is perfect for storing your keys, money or other valuables. The Rapha softshell pants are finished with reflective trim, feature a stretch waistband with an inner soft gripper and 6x belt loops.
The Rapha softshell urban cycling pants retail for $230.
