Modeled after the thong style sandals worn by the Tarahumara tribe of Mexico, the new GoLite Tara Lite trail shoes are designed to help you run fast. Taking the basic sandal concept, GoLite has added in the protection, stability and traction you would expect from their Class 1 experience.
The Tara Lite is built on the GoLite BareTech technology platform which combines a shock absorbing sole with a natural last. A 24mm dual density EVA midsole provides extra protection while still offering a zero heel to toe drop. The second skin stretch upper hugs your feet and helps protect them from the elements.
Similar to the Tarahumara tribe sandals, the trail shoes feature an internal sandal thong. The sandal thong together with the outer adjustable closure system, provide security and efficiency by preventing excessive foot movement.
The Tara Lite trail shoes feature GoLite's newest Sticky Gecko outsole with 350 small Gripstick rubber lugs that replicate the tiny hairs on a gecko's feet to create surface contact and friction.
Scheduled to release in Spring 2011, you can reserve your GoLite Tara Lite trail runners now on the company website. No official price yet but rumored to be around $120.
