Yesterday, Moov released their second generation wearable–the Moov Now. Smaller (28 mm diameter), lighter (6 grams vs 8 grams), and more breathable than the Moov Classic, this new device is meant to be worn all day and night, not just during your workouts.
Similar to the original Moov, the Moov Now gives you real-time coaching feedback based on your form, helping you reach your optimum performance and efficiency during exercise with continued use. After your workout, Moov Now provides you with detailed post-workout analysis to improve during your next training session.
In order to compete with the big boys in wearables, Moov added activity and sleep tracking this time around, in addition to the coaching and analysis offered in the Run & Walk, Cycling, Swim, 7 Minute + Workout, and Cardio Boxing apps. In the near future, Moov plans to merge these 5 different apps into a single app, available on both Android and iOS, while adding new features such as a leaderboard, 3rd party heart rate monitor support, and new workout programs such as Spin Cycle and Tabata Training. While it doesn’t measure steps like your Fitbit or Band, the Moov Now will keep track of your activity level and active time, in addition to automatically tracking how much sleep you get each night night.
For the Moov Now, the company updated the processor making it twice as fast and delivering better Bluetooth performance. Running off a CR2032 battery, the Moov Now will last for up to 6 months (in activity tracking mode, 100 hours in active coaching mode) instead of the 8 hour battery life of the Moov Classic with its rechargeable Lithium-ion battery.
