Yesterday, Cycliq launched an already-funded-in-a-day Kickstarter campaign for their Duo Mount — a multi-functional bike mount that attaches both your bike computer and action camera. This time around, the Australian team that brought you the Fly6 and Fly12 set out to create something that would help declutter your handlebars without breaking the bank.
The Duo Mount is 2 in 1 solution designed for a 31.8 mm handlebar — it holds your bike computer on top and your action camera below. Unlike other mounting options, the Duo Mount comes with the flexibility to attach almost any bike computer without the need to purchase extra adaptors or accessories. Supported bike computer brands include Garmin (including the Edge 1000), Wahoo, Polar, Cateye, Mio, and Magellan. You can also connect any action camera or other device (i.e. bike lights) that uses the universal mounting system with the typical three fins.
Made from aircraft grade 7075 aluminum, the bile mount is both incredibly strong and corrosion resistant. On final production, it is expected to weigh 50 grams, including cap and screw.
The Duo Mount can be installed in less than 15 seconds with a single screw and a single pivoting arm. The bolt is tightened from the top, so there is no risk of dropping bolts or being forced into an awkward position to install from underneath your handlebars.
In Sri Lanka, I used the K-Edge Garmin Combo Mount to hold my GoPro and Edge 1000. It’s a nice way to clean up your handlebars. My only issue was that you can’t see what your camera is actually doing — if you pushed the button correctly, if it’s on video or single shot. etc.
Cycliq is offering the Duo Mount for prices starting at AUD39 (~$30). Retail is expected to be around $69 when the time comes. If you are one of the first 400 to order, you should get your Duo Mount in time for the holidays.
