New Light & Motion Bike Lights For Spring

Rando 500

For Spring 2018, Light & Motion introduces a handful of new bike lights as well as some interesting new features across its bike line. The bike lights include something for everyone, from the everyday commuter to the tourer or even adventure racer.

The Rando 500 ($79.99 — pictured top) is a compact, 500-lumen headlight with extended runtime – three hours at full power, eight hours on low (125 lumens), and up to 16 hours on pulse. If you are adventuring for an extended time off-grid, Rando’s enhanced firmware allows it to charge from a USB hub generator or back-up battery while in use.

Urban 1000

The commuter-centric Urban 1000 ($89.99) is waterproof up to one meter and delivers 1000 lumens of light for up to 1.5 hours. This bike light includes one of Light & Motion’s new features — the SafePulse beam. SafePulse was developed based on research by the Florida Highway Patrol and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to dramatically improve driver awareness and ability to safely pass cyclists. Studies show that flashing lights destroy a driver’s depth perception, making it hard for them to safely locate the rider when passing.

Vis Taillight

The Vis Micro II Taillight ($49.99) delivers 60 lumens of light for up to five hours on SafePulse mode. Powerful amber side markers ensure you are visible from the side while riding in traffic.

Seca 2000

Finally, the waterproof Seca 2000 Race ($280) delivers 2000 lumens of light in a trail-optimized beam pattern for those night rides or 24-hour races. You get up to 1.5 hours of run time on high or six hours on low at 500 lumens output. The 3 Cell Li-ion battery can be recharged in just 2.5 hours.

The new Light & Motion bike lights will start shipping in May.
