Jorts You Can Surf In

Denim Boardshorts

Jorts, worn by dads the world over, are suddenly cool again. First there was the Findra denim mountain bike shorts for the two-wheeled set, and now O’Neill has come out with a pair of denim boardshorts for all the surfer bros to wear from dawn patrol sessions to sipping Pacificos after the sun goes down.

To develop the world’s first denim boardshorts, O’Neill team up with textile brand ISKO. The new boardshorts bridge the gap between land and sea.

“Wherever you see people, you also see denim. People are addicted to denim. So why not make denim swim shorts that you can wear in or out of the water? ” remarked Jan Lindeboom, Category Manager Surf & Snow Performance at O’Neill.

The denim boardshorts are made from a material that is 50 percent lighter than traditional denim and water-repellent thanks to O’Neill’s Hyperdry treatment — water just rolls off the surface. The treated fabric remains soft and breathable both in and out of the water and will remain water-repellent through countless surf sessions. The fabric is fast-drying with four-way stretch that delivers unlimited mobility and flexibility.

The denim boardshorts feature a 16.5-inch inseam with both side and back pockets. The design has a relaxed silhouette and lace at the waist to keep them from falling down when you get pulled under.

The O’Neill Denim Hybrid Boardshorts — their official name — retail for $80 and are available now.
