Even though you already wear
merino wool clothing for a variety of activities, the company decided to design two new sport specific lines, one for cycling and one for running. Making use of the 10 distinct merino fabrics in the Icebreaker arsenal, the cycling and running apparel will deliver the same performance benefits and odor resistance that you expect from Icebreaker.
Aimed at both fitness and elite runners, the Icebreaker GT Run line features sleeveless tees, crews, tanks, shorts, tights and a racer-back bra for the women. Run-specific features include eyelet panels for breathability, reflective details for visibility, zippered stash pockets and cord management systems for listening to music.
The GT Bike line of cycling apparel, aimed at road, mountain and commute cyclists, features shorts, bibs and two different sets of tops. The road cycling apparel is built with a slim, sleek race fit. Drop tail hems and a gripper back hem keeps the jersey in place. Reflective rear details give you visibility at dawn and dusk and three back panels give you plenty of room for storage.
The bike shorts and bibs are made from 85% merino with a minimal amount of spandex and nylon for durability. Icebreaker partnered with a top Italian manufacturer for the chamois.
The mountain biking apparel is built for durability over long distances. Eyelet fabric gives extra breathability in heat zones, and rear zipped security pockets are easily accessible while wearing a hydration pack.
The commuter cycling apparel has all the functionality and urban style you need to take your from the bike to the office. The Icebreaker commute tops are machine-washable and can be worn all day. The commute range features gripper elastic around the hems, reflective tape for visibility, hip pockets that are easily accessed while wearing a messenger bag and ergonomically designed zip pulls.
The Icebreaker running and cycling apparel line will be available for Spring 2011.
